GSmartControl – like CrystalDiskInfo for Linux

By | 2015/12/08

The closest thing Linux users have to CrystalDiskInfo is an app call GSmartControl. Check it out!

On the Debian or Ubuntu, install via:

sudo apt-get install gsmartcontrol

GSmartControl gives the ability to review drive health including SSD lifetime left, as well as the ability to run smart tests.

Here is a boot disk I have which is almost four years old. GSmartControl is warning me that its days are numbered! 🙂 Maybe this will convince my spouse to let me get that fancy Intel SSD.

Rock on,
