The Ultimate vimrc

By | 2014/12/07

User amix has created the Ultimate vimrc which is available on github. Check it out!

github page:

There are two versions, basic and advanced. If you are just a sysadmin like me, the basic is sufficient.

To install the basic version, do the following:
git clone git:// ~/.vim_runtime
sh ~/.vim_runtime/

Done. The output will look like the following:

$ git clone git:// ~/.vim_runtime
Cloning into '/home/stmiller/.vim_runtime'...
remote: Counting objects: 4259, done.
remote: Total 4259 (delta 0), reused 0 (delta 0)
Receiving objects: 100% (4259/4259), 4.03 MiB | 3.40 MiB/s, done.
Resolving deltas: 100% (1514/1514), done.

$ sh ~/.vim_runtime/
Installed the Ultimate Vim configuration successfully! Enjoy :-)
