Install Sun Java in Ubuntu

How do I install Sun Java in Ubuntu 10.04?

While the license friendly OpenJDK should suffice, you can also opt to install Sun’s Java. Sun Java among other things have been moved out of multiverse to the partner repository.

To add this repository, issue the following command:

sudo add-apt-repository "deb lucid partner"

Follow that with:

sudo apt-get update

And then you can install the sun java plugin (for instance) by issuing:

sudo apt-get install sun-java6-plugin
